Cuban Revolution Turns 50
Thursday, August 28, 2003 Cuba recently commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Communist revolution which began with the failed July 26, 1953 assault on an army barracks. Much else has changed in the intervening 50 years, but not Fidel Castro's delusions. The BBC notes the hardships endured by the Cuban people since the fall of the Soviet Union, but notes that Castro always manages to find a bright side,
Who deals with the problems suffered in those selfish, capitalist, alienated and alienating societies? Indeed. Cubans may have to deal with food rationing, but at least they don't have to deal with that killer anomie that suffuses capitalist nations. Source: Cuba revolution hits 50 years.
