Michael Parenti is a poster child for everything that is wrong with the Left. Parenti got his start extolling the virtues of the Soviet Union and denying the extensive human rights abuses by the Soviet regime. With the fall of Communism, Parenti moved on to extolling the virtues of "reformist" regimes such as Libya and Iraq, while continuing to disparage "fascist" America.

Parenti is so enamored of the former Soviet Union that in 1997 he took the extraordinary step of attacking Noam Chomsky, of all people, as a tool of corporate propaganda for Chomsky's criticisms of the USSR.
